Our TCPC Community:

Pray for Kathy Herbst, who is being treated for cancer.  Pray for healing, for relief from pain, for wisdom in considering treatment options, for a renewing sense of God's presence, and for a faithful testimony as she walks the road the Lord has placed before her.

From Dan Doherty on Monday, 8/21: One of my brothers was in a motorcycle accident last Thursday. He is coming off life support this morning. My sister and I have shared the Gospel with him, but we don’t know if he is saved. I am trusting our sovereign God and His will.

Sara Leaman's sister, Lois Jantzi, had an extremely invasive brain tumor removed on May 21. She was discharged from rehab and came home June 4. Following pathology reports she has opted to forego treatment and is with family in another state. Please pray for Lois and her family.

Pray for the college students from our congregation (Lily, Tim, Grace, Andrew, and Natasha) to stand firm in their faith and to find supportive Christian communities where they can grow and be shepherded.

Pray for our Outreach Team as they seek to move our congregation forward in mercy and evangelism.

Always pray for both pastors as the apostle Paul did when he said, “Pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ . . . that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak” (Colossians 4:3–4).

Continued prayer is requested for the relocation committee as they look for a larger meeting place. Pray for wisdom and clarity and patience of the team.

Community at Large

Pray for the nation of Ukraine and the people under attack.  Pray for peace and the end of violence.  Pray for the church to be strengthened and to be a witness of hope and courage.

As you pray for friends, neighbors, and loved ones who have not yet put their faith in Christ, pray with Jeremiah 2:13 in mind. In these verses, we see illustrated the futility of seeking satisfaction in anything other than God.  Every other source of joy, peace, comfort, acceptance, or whatever else people hunger after, will eventually fail, like a broken cistern that cannot hold water.  But God is a spring of satisfaction.  Pray that our loved ones, neighbors, friends, and even our enemies would be thoroughly dissatisfied with their pursuits until they turn to the spring of living water in Jesus Christ.

Missions:

Pray for our missionaries of the month: Jeff Lee and his team as they share the gospel in the university community and gather believers for fellowship, teaching and prayer.

Pray for Manny and Terri Bersach, MTW missionaries to Columbia. They returned to Rionegro in January. Please pray for the following: 1) Finances; and 2) for God to continue to open doors and hearts in Rionegro.

Pray for MTW missionaries in Ukraine: Bob and Andrea Burnham, Doug and Marsha Shepherd, Kirk and Anna Norris, Mel and Martha Pike, and Jonathan and Tracy Eide.

Pray for missionaries with CRU, James and Christina, who are currently working from the U.S. due to government lockdowns in East Asia. They are particularly working to reach the young people of East Asia online. Pray for their endurance during this trial and for God's perfect timing to get them back to East Asia for in person ministry.
